A company newsletter is a valuable tool for any company or business who wants to provide their readership with information on a regular basis. Because the company newsletter is becoming such an important role in company marketing, below are some ideas for newsletter publishers to help create the content for a company newsletter.

Always include an “About Us” section. This will give you the chance to tell your readers what your company does. You should also include the contact details for your company within this section.

Include a “What’s New” section. This is a perfect opportunity to tell your readers about what the latest developments are within the company. For example this can include new products, offers, services, or staff members who have either joined or left the company.

Depending on the size of the company it may be possible to include an employee profile or interview. The two main benefits of doing this are that:

1)the interview will obviously discuss how much the employee enjoys working for the company (selling the company and what it provides)

2) the reader/customers will be able to identify with the employee as a person, rather than a faceless company.

Provide an in depth review on something that the company offers. This can include free tips and advice for the reader. You could also offer free tips and advice related to a topic within your niche (which would also include how the company provides the best product for dealing with that situation)

Have a letters page where customers/readers are invited to write in with regards to the company. This can include questions and feedback which should also be answered on these pages. This is a great way to build up a customer and company relationship, as the customer is made to be a part of the newsletter.

If your company provides deals, then maybe include some offers, discounts or coupons which are exclusive to the company newsletter subscribers.

While there are definitely more things that could be included in a company newsletter, these initial ideas should be a good starting point for a newsletter publisher to start creating content.<!--

A great way for newsletter publishers to create a professional looking email newsletter is to use a template. Not only does this make the newsletter look like a quality product, it also helps the newsletter creator make all of their newsletters look uniform. While it is possible for a newsletter publisher to create their own template from scratch, there are many places where email newsletter templates can be found online.

These email newsletter templates are available readily available from a variety of different sources. The main three types of sources for newsletters are:

1) Free email newsletter templates

2) Paid for email newsletter templates

3) Email newsletter templates which are available when joining up with an email provider or similar online service.

Regardless of where the template has been sourced from the benefits of using one are obvious. Not only will your final newsletter look smart, but it will also help you save time in producing it if the layout is already there for you.

Now while the obvious reaction would be that a paid for template would be better and more professional, in many cases you can find a free template which will do the job just as well. This is a bonus for any newsletter publisher who is either new to newsletter marketing and therefore may not have the funds to waste on a paid for template, or if the newsletter being published is for personal rather than business use.

In fact there are so many sources for free email newsletter templates online that finding one is as simple as doing a search on Google. Another surprising discovery that you may find as a newsletter publisher is that the free templates are often easier to use, edit and format than a paid for template would be.

Another benefit for using a free email newsletter template is that you will be able to modify it to your own needs relatively simply (depending on your abilities) to make it how you want it. Many paid for newsletter templates either don’t allow for any major editing or require intimate knowledge of the program that was used to create it.

For these reasons, but mainly the fact that they don’t cost anything, free newsletter templates are by far the most popular option available to newsletter publishers. In fact, some free templates are of such a high standard that many newsletter marketers will continue to use them even if they have reached a stage when they can budget towards a paid for template.

Choosing a newsletter topic is the first step needed to be taken by any newsletter publisher. It stands to reason that by knowing the topic you are going to write about will help in the creation of newsletter content, titles, and images.

When choosing the topic you should decide on something that you can produce interesting and regular content about. For this reason, as a newsletter publisher you should choose your topic based on one or more of the following 3 criteria:

1) Choose a topic which you are passionate about.

2) Choose a topic which you are interested in, and wouldn’t mind researching about when creating content.

3) Choose a topic with which you are knowledgeable (i.e. it could be related to your work).

Because many newsletter publishers are only producing newsletter to market a product, service, or website which they are already involved in, then the task of choosing a topic for those newsletters is already done.

For example if you are an affiliate or the owner of a site in the dog grooming niche, then that should be the core topic of your newsletter. You will find that in many niches there are opportunities to expand out i.e. in the dog grooming example you might be able to add in content regarding other dog topics and possibly other household pets.

You also need to consider the audience that your newsletter topic will attract. This will definitely have an impact on the style and content of your newsletter.

Another consideration that you will need to make when choosing your newsletter topic is how often you are going to publishing your newsletter. Many newsletters are published weekly, fortnightly or monthly, so you will need to choose a topic which will provide you with enough content.
The title for your newsletter is the first chance you have to make an impression on a new reader; so you’d best make sure that it’s a good one. This is the reason that so many newsletter publishers are creating and looking for new and creative newsletter names. While ordinary newsletter titles may do the job of telling a prospective reader what your newsletter will be about, more creative newsletter title will set you apart from the competition.

You need to remember that the first part of your newsletter that people will see is not your content, but your newsletter name. This makes coming up with a newsletter title that stands out from the crowd, a vital part of writing your newsletter. Your newsletter title not only needs to be eye-catching, but it also needs to be descriptive of your newsletter content. Readers will usually only want to read further if they know what they are going to be getting beforehand.

Coming up with creative newsletter titles can be almost as much of a challenge as writing the content, however there are plenty of resources and ideas that you can use to come up with a good one. One of the best places to start is to look at online newsletter directories, as there are literally thousands of newsletters in almost every single topic in every niche you can think of.

Will you should start your search in the area that is related to your newsletter, you don’t have to limit yourself to it. Chances are you can find inspiration for a catchy newsletter title in a niche that is completely unrelated to your topic. You can even find inspiration for your title from off-line mediums, such as books, television and newspaper and magazine articles. When you come across good sounding titles you should always jot them down, so you have a reminder of all the titles that you have found.

The best newsletter titles are brief and to the point. Not only does this make them easier to remember, but a title that is too lengthy may put off readers. Once you have found a good newsletter name then you need to try and rework it to try making a variation of it which is unique. This helps to keep your newsletter from being confused with that of another newsletter publisher, or vice-versa. However it’s important to note that when you try and make a variation of an existing newsletter name that it should not alter the appeal of the title for your newsletters content.
It is always a good idea to break up the content of your newsletter into small paragraphs, so as not to present your reader with a large block of text. Not only does a large block of text appear unattractive to the reader, it may put them off from reading the entire content.

Another great way to break up the text is to use newsletter icons within the content. Not only will this break up the content, making the text seem less daunting to read, but it will also liven up the newsletter by making it more attractive.

The process of adding icons to your newsletter is relatively straightforward, and almost all current word and office software will allow for the adding and editing of images within the text.

It’s important to remember that the icons and images that you use should be relevant to the newsletter content. It’s all very well adding in an icon because you think that it looks good, but if it has nothing to do with the content then not only could it be confusing for the reader, but it will also look as if you have just slapped in an icon or image just for the sake of it.

While you can make your own icons and images for your newsletters, there are numerous websites available where you can acquire newsletter icons in a variety of formats such as JPG, PNG and GIF. Most of these sites have a vast catalogue of icons available, which can easily be searched either through niche or description.

You will need to search carefully through these websites as some newsletter icons will be require payment if they are intended for commercial use, while others will be royalty free. To help you get started with looking for icons, below is a short list of websites that provide icons and images that you could use in your newsletter.

fotolia.com

iconarchive.com

icon-art-studios.com

iconfinder.com

iconseeker.com

iconpcug.org

pixmac.com

veryicon.com

The websites listed above are only a small selection of sites that offer newsletter icons and images, so if you can’t find anything there then you can always use a search engine to find newsletter icons. Regardless of your newsletter content you should always be able to find icons that will match your requirements.

Just remember that it is the content of your newsletter that is the most important, so while using icons can make your newsletter look more attractive, don’t go overboard with them.
Regardless of the medium in which you are planning to publish your newsletter, having a good name or title for it can mean the difference between whether your newsletter is read or not. This can be very disheartening, considering as it’s the newsletter content that you want your audience to read.

Generally, a person will decide whether they want to invest time in reading a newsletter in a similar fashion to the way they may choose a book when browsing in a bookshop or library. After deciding which genre or niche they want to read, they will start looking through what’s on offer. Ultimately, what draws a person to both a book and a newsletter when they are browsing is the title.

Good newsletter names should perform two tasks:

The name should tell the reader what the newsletter is about and what to expect from the content.

and

The name should attract a reader into wanting to read it.

Newsletter names are very much like a window, into which a reader can see whether your newsletter will be of interest to them or not. By having a title which tells the readers what to expect from the content will make them want to read it to find out more. You will also need to make your newsletter names attractive to the reader so you can stand out from the other newsletters that will be vying for the attention of your reader.

A great way to get newsletter title ideas is to look at other newsletters for inspiration. Write down anything that you find that you think may be of use to you, it’s possible that you can find inspiration for future newsletters. While there is no right or wrong ways in coming up with the titles, as long as the title performs the two tasks previously mentioned your newsletter will perform well.

There are two main ways in which you can create a name for your newsletter. The first is to write the content of the newsletter and then make a title after. The second way is to come up with the title for your newsletter first, and then write the content to fit the title. Because both of these methods work, many newsletter publishers use both.
When starting a newsletter, there are several things that one needs to decide on. They have first to decide on a topic for the newsletter. And afterwards, they have to determine which newsletter name to use. They also must make their mind about which newsletter format is more suitable and appropriate for them. All these decisions that you take throughout the newsletter creation process gives your newsletter its final shape. Another decision that the newsletter publisher needs to make is how often they publish their newsletter. In other words, you must determine whether you are going to send your newsletter issues to your subscribers every week or every day, etc.

This last decision will have a great effect on your newsletter publishing. It does so because it is related to how much content you are going to produce. If you publish your newsletter on a weekly basis, you will have to come up with newsletter content or a newsletter article once a week. So, you can spend the whole week crafting and refining your article. Likewise, when you decide to publish the newsletter on a daily basis, you will be committed to coming up with a newsletter article every single day.

Once you commit yourself to particular publishing schedule, you must stick to it. Do not keep switching your schedule all the time. You may do so once a while but do not so all the time. If you keep doing so, you will upset your subscribers because they end up not knowing when the newsletter will hit their inboxes. Therefore, you should decide on a schedule and stay committed to it. Messing up the regularity of your newsletter publisher is a bad practice that may cause you to lose subscribers.

Publishing a newsletter on a daily basis is a big commitment. Unless you have something of interest to share with your subscriber every day, I do not recommend going for this schedule. It is more reasonable to publish your newsletter every two days, once a week, or twice a week but every day seems a bit exaggerated. After all, that is your decision. If you are not sure which schedule to follow, you can test them. Start by adhering to the weekly schedule for a month at least and then switch to publishing the newsletter twice a week, and finally move on to the daily schedule. Afterwards, try to compare your results and newsletter performance to observe if there are any significant changes or improvements that can be attributed to one schedule or another.

If you find some, then you should follow the schedule that gives you the best results. However, if all the three publishing schedules perform identically, then there is no reason why should overwork yourself to get the same result that weekly publishing can produce. If you go for the weekly schedule, you will free up a lot of time that you can invest doing other more productive activities either in your personal or business life.
The creation of a newsletter involves some decision and choice making. Among the decisions and choices that you have to make, we have choosing a topic for the newsletter. There are hundreds of topics that you can choose from. The next step is to determine which title you are going to use for the newsletter. You also have to decide on the newsletter format that your newsletter will be published in. another important decision that can significantly affect how the newsletter turns out is that of the publishing frequency. As a newsletter publisher, you have to decide how often you are going to publish your newsletter.

You can publish it on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule or whatever else you choose. There are some newsletters which are published on a monthly basis. This sort of publishing frequency has some advantages and disadvantages as well. The publisher will not be very much concerned about creating content for their newsletter. As you might already know, content creation is the task that most newsletter publishers hate. Having to produce newsletter articles on a regular basis and without interruption can become such a tedious and boring chore. This is especially true when you have to do so on a daily or weekly schedule.

Publishing a monthly newsletter is not much of an effort, as you have to come up with a single newsletter article every month. This applies only to email newsletters. A print newsletter, on the other hand, involves a lot of work and time and therefore, it is typically published on a monthly basis. A print newsletter needs to be planned carefully; in fact professional experts are required to properly lay out the newsletter. The layout involves setting the fonts, colors, headings and subheadings, header and footer, and the background of the newsletter. These are only a few of the elements that are dealt with in the layout.

There are standards and commonly used conventions which control how a print or paper newsletter is to be laid out. These standards are established to help newsletter publishers get the most benefit they can out of their newsletter. A newsletter publisher should, ideally, make profits through their newsletter and these profits should at least cover the expenses of producing the newsletter. Unlike email newsletters, print newsletters are expensive to produce. The publisher must pay for the printing and distribution of their newsletter.

This discussion leads us to the following conclusion. If you are publishing a print newsletter, it is good and helpful to published it on a monthly basis. On the other hand, if your newsletter is published in an electronic format, you can publish it once a week or even twice. Which schedule to use depends on what you consider more appropriate. With respect to email newsletters, you can find out what publishing rate is more effective through experimenting. Publish your newsletter on a weekly basis for a month, and then twice a week and then on a daily basis. Once the test is over, analyze your results and your newsletter performance to see if there are any clues of improvement that can be attributed to one schedule or another.
There are so many types of newsletters. The different types of newsletters are nothing but a mere refection of the purposes for which newsletters are used. Therefore, we have school newsletters, library newsletters, company newsletters, customer newsletters, family newsletters, corporate newsletters, etc. So as we can see, each newsletter is designed to serve a particular purpose and must, therefore, be well adapted to do so. Corporate newsletters, for example, are used by companies and corporations to communicate news internally, that is inside the company between management and the employees.

A corporate newsletter should not be limited only to the communication of news inside the company; it should fulfill other tasks. Management can use the newsletter to encourage employees to do their best and produce more. The newsletter can also be used to raise awareness of the company’s goals and vision among the workforce. Once the employees adopt these goals, it will become much easier for the company to reach them. The newsletter should help boost the productivity of the employees and their faith in the company they are working for. It can stimulate them to work harder by informing them about the achievements that have been made so far.

The corporate newsletter should also fulfill its main purpose which is communicating news and information. The employees should get information about the company from local media. Instead, they should get first hand information from the company itself. This will protect them against any allegations and misrepresentations that the media may propagate against the company and its activities. Management should be transparent with its employees and inform them any changes in the company that can directly affect them. If the employees get access to this sort of information through local media leaks, they might feel betrayed by the company for which they have been working sincerely and hard.

The newsletter should contain nothing that may offend the employees or outsiders because there is no guarantee the newsletter will not get leaked out. By keeping the newsletter transparent, no harm will be caused if the newsletter falls into the hand of an outsider or intruder. A corporate newsletter acts like the cheerleader of a team, it cheers the employee team and encourage them to do their best and work sincerely for their company because its success is their success. To achieve all these ends, special craftsmanship is required for making the corporate newsletter.

Among other things that are communicated in a corporate newsletter, we have promotion announcements, new product releases, contacts, and industry awards. The newsletter should not merely communicate the news but it should drive the employees excited about it.
