Internet Newsletters

Internet newsletters are becoming more numerous and they appear to be about to completely supplant print and paper newsletters. An internet newsletter has several advantages over print newsletters. Paper newsletters had been the only form of newsletters for ages. Companies used them to communicate with their customers, to inform their customers about their new products and services and to get new customers as well. An internet newsletter can do the same task but even more effectively. Internet newsletters are commonly called email newsletters, electronic newsletters (e newsletters), online newsletters or web newsletters. All these naming refer to the same thing.

A print newsletter needs to be printed. Printing can cost your business thousands of dollars and the cost can increase incessantly as the number of your subscribers goes up. The more subscribers you have the more money you can expect to pay for printing. The reason is quite obvious; having more subscribers means that you are going to have more copies of the newsletter printed. This also consumes a lot of paper. And if you care about the environment you should know that a lot of trees are cut down to provide that paper.

Along with the cost of newsletter printing we have the expenses of shipping. The newsletter is sent through regular mail to its respective subscribers. The cost can go up as the number of copies to be mailed increases. Some copies may not reach their destinations because they get caught up or lost in the mail. Another issue is the time that newsletter will take before it arrives. If the content of the newsletter includes short-lived information, there is a possibility that it will be outdated by the time it reaches the subscriber.

Internet newsletters on the other hand do not cost as much. An internet newsletter does not need to be printed or mailed. Compared to print newsletters, internet newsletters are ridiculously cheap to produce. Since it is produced in an electronic format, all you need to do is create one copy and after that you can generate millions of copies from it at no cost. As far as sending the newsletter is concerned, the cost falls around $19 a month which nothing compared to the thousands of dollars spend in the publication and mailing of paper newsletters. Unless you have thousands of subscribers for your internet newsletter, your cost will remain stable.

Another advantage of email newsletters is that they are instantaneous. The newsletter reaches the subscriber at the very moment in which it is sent. The publisher needn’t be concerned that his newsletter content may not be up to date. It is also a two-way communication channel. Subscribers can respond to the newsletter by sending replies and enquiries at their will. One more important advantage of the electronic newsletter is that it can be fully automated so that you can spend your precious time creating quality for it instead of being busing managing subscriptions, printing and mailing. This makes internet newsletter more preferable to their paper counterpart.
